Is a high proformance fuel pressure regulator needed to work with a walbro pump
I just ordered my walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump with install kit.
Now the guy is telling me that Im going to need to buy an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.
Im going to be using rc 440cc injectors with a hondata s200b w/boost option.
I thought the extra fuel would just go back in to the tank.
Can anyone help me out .

The walbro should be sufficient if this is a mild build. I did not use one on my stock turbo build. I do plan to use one on my new build though because I will have to adjust the pressure.
Im only going to run 280whp on stock internals at 7-9psi of boost.
Yeah the guy at the store was like yeah you know you have to upgrade to a high proformance fuel pressure regualtor and I was like what and why.
I always think the stock one is fine for up to 350-400hp.

Should be fine, but install it and see if your oem regulator works (measure the pressure). If not, there is a mod on the Endyn site that shows you how to enlarge the return hole so that it will maintian the proper pressure. The issue is that sometimes the stock regulator will not bleed off enough fuel and the pressure creeps up.
Best of luck with your project.

EDIT: NM answered my own question by rereading your post
You dont "need" one but havin a new one for safety sake is a good idea but at the same time you are fixin somethin that isnt broke and those factory regulators seem to last forever, after market parts dont seem to last as long usually so you might get a new factory one???

On anther forum site. Someone told me that the hole in the oem one is not large enough and I will get fuel pressure spikes at low throttle or idle.
Im figuring out that some people have them and so dont.
So its kinda hard to make my decison if getting one or not.

Alright not to take this thread on to another topic. Can you use a under the hood fuel pressure gauge on a aem adjustible fuel pressure regulator.
If so how, because they dont come with a gauge port
