Default Cars not running so well

In the past two days my car has changed from running beautiful to me not even caring what goes on with it. The beggining of my problems. I'm out driving with my friends and my car is acting really weird not sure what it is at first but all my electronics are not working. My radios not working and my power windows arent either. I just ignore it and think to my self ill look at it later. So as im driving around my speedometer is reading 0 when im driving at 40 miles and hour. It would stick at 40 then all the sudden drop to 0. I had no idea what was going on. My friends tell me its my speedo thats going out and all i need to do is switch it out. So i go along with it and just leave that. Now after going back to my friends house we hangout for a bit but i get tired so i go back home. I start up my car drive around his block and head out on the back roads before i get home. I come to a complete stop and i notice a slight nockin in my engine. I start to take off and then it goes away but as soon as it disapears a huge knock comes out of no were like someone punched the bottom of my car. That kind of freaks me out. I slow down again to a complete stop and it does the same thing. This time i put the gas to the floor and my car slows down. Normally it would take. I put it into second and accelerate and it slows the same way. Does anyone know what is going on with my car?

how many miles and is it an auto or stick. and what year.

electronics kinda of sounds like the alternator, you could have possibly blown it, but i doubt it. does it sound like your car is struggling to start?

Windows and radio could be a fuse. when your deck was installed, they could have hooked the power to the windows fuse. Your speedo doesnt really "go out" that would more than likely be your speed sensor located on the front of your tranny. When's the last time you checked your oil? And here's a weird possibility, with ALL these things happening at the same time, get your car's ECU checked. The ECU controls everything in your car from the amount of charge your alt produces, timing, fuel injection, and strangely enough, your speed sensor is hooked into your ECU so it knows what speed & rpms your currently at, how much air/fuel you need at that particular moment, if your battery needs the extra boost, etc...Also check your power block, it's located under the hood on the passengers side. It has all the relays and fuses for the larger components for under the hood. I've read on the forums that some people have had problems with the power block( I think I'm calling this part wrong) and there's a cheap way to fix it for the DIY. I hope this helps, but hell this thread was written weeks ago, you've probably already fixed it

yeah happens all the time on those 79 accords, the plug at the voltage regulator box on the passenger side fender needs to have the connector contacts cleaned, and your Carb is dumping, you need new floats in it.

WHAT COLOR IS THE CAR?

Today i changed out the oil, the alternator, and my batery. I hooked everything up and i dont have ANY power . No lights are turning on . NOTHING. Earlier today i changed out the oil went for a drive and my car completely died on me. i was driving to my friends after the oil change. i had to push my car the rest of the way to my friends. We took out the alternator and got it checked. It was blown and i bought a new one. I put that new one on and my friend put my bater in. When he put the battery in his got the negatives and positives mixed. Im thinking this is my new problem. What do i do now? I switched them back so their connected right and everything. But i dont have any power. The batterys fine and i checked all my fuses. Is there a hidden fuse that i might not know of? The battery is relocated to my trunk but i wasnt the one who did it. its a 93 and its manual. More help is appreciated. Thanks

Maybe you have a fuse hidden somewhere along the power wire running from the battery?

usually when u mix the pos. and neg on accident it blows the battery fuse, thats what happen to me (embarrassed to say lol) accidently did the same thin gand the battery fuse and a few others blew. Really try to check that battery fuse, its bigger then normal fuses. If its not blown, but senes u say its a relocated battery they might have relocated the battery fuse. Just try to find it, it would have to be the battery fuse

well today i bought a whole new setup for my battery. First i took my batery to the store and they said the battery was just fine. I never realized how caroded (not sure if thats spelt right) were till they told me to check them. Turns out they were prety bad so i went back to the store and bought all new wires and everything for it. In a couple minutes im going to go put it all on and see how it turns out. Thanks for the help. Any other advice would still be nice. Thanks.
