Default Transmission Oil cause problems

I've a 95 Prelude SRV with the Vtec engine and 5 speed tranny. I did 10 minutes of very aggressive driving with almost bald tires and wet pavement one night. Like, full throttle exiting cornerswith counter steering. Next morning, I can't shift it into any gears on the half way to work.

So far, I've bled the hydraulic system at least 3 times, swapped in a new slave cyclinder. Checked the tranmission oil.

- When I pressed in the clutch pedal, i feel vibrations from the pedals.
- when I pressed in the clutch pedal, noise/grinding sound can be heard
- when I tried to force the shifter in, grinding noise is more obvious.
- randomly, i can put it into 2nd gear
- Before I can force the shifter into gears, the car rolls a little bit forwards.

What give?

Suspected causes
1) I've put in 10W30 Supertech synthetic motor oil (I just have nothing else in 10w30 grade or 10W40 grade in my garage) in the engine a few weeks ago. It shifted smoother than ever before the problem
2) I've put in DOT3 brake fluids to bleed the hydraulic system.
3) can it be the synthetic motor oil too slippery and synchros not engaging properly?
4) Bend shift fork from aggressive driving?

Honda gurus, please help. What's the time frame I'm looking at if i'm planning to pull the clutch apart and do the swap myself?

Thanks in advance !

sounds like it could possibly be your clutch. any metal savings in the fluid?

Not a single bit of metal flakes from the transmission oil nor the drain plug. The synthetic motor oil that I put in looks very clean and not burnt smell.

if it was me id go to the dealership and get some honda mtf.
i got some put in my tranny when it was rebuilt and now its smoother than most new cars that are broke in. it wont fix any major damage inside but it could help you out a lil bit.
do you have a short shifter in your car?
you might have threw some shift forks out of alignment. those usually take some easy driving to straighten back out...

hope this helps.

i know the tech at the dealership said to never use motor oil. so idk. just try honda mtf itll do yeh good. trust me.

I thought the repair manual that was written back in the 90's stated either 10W30 or 10W40 engine oil. So, i thought thats the minimum requirement for the tranny.

-Could it be the synchros too slippery to engage?

thanks for the shift fork input

Sounds like your shiftforks are bent. I had a similar problem. It's like really stiff when shifting into gears and you almost have to force it in? It could be a combination of that and a dead clutch though. The problem is only going to get worse and worse and can do serious damage to your tranny and will eventually seize. Look into it soon, hopefully it's not that bad.

i have an 01 prelude. it says 10w 40 as well but they highly reccomend honda mtf.
my shift forks went about a month ago cuz i missed a shift pretty fuggin bad.
but ive eard of ppl just sitting there shifting from 1st to 5th 1st to R etc. it will re align the shift forks to some extent. it worked for me but i have a warranty on mine so i just took it to the stealership and they hooked me up with a new tranny for free basically. good luck man.
shift fork from stealership was like 50-60 bucks.
