quick turbo positioning question
I'm putting this turbo on my car, and I'm a turbo nub. Anyways, this oil feed doesn't look like its right there, from what I understood it needs to be at the very top.
Question: How do I get that oil feed at the top of the turbo? I've loosened all of the bolts where the exhaust goes into the turbo and yanked on it to try and turn it but it won't budge, and I don't wanna break anything.

What you are trying to do is clock a turbo. There are many threads about it if you use that term.
Loosen both the comp side and exhaust side bolts. IF you are still not able to turn the turbo with all the bolts loosened you can take a rubber mallet and try to hit it and break it loose. (Should not take much force) More than likly it is just stuck together from corrosion.
As far as the oil line position it is best to get it closest to stright up and down. There are many circumstances that dont allow this to always happen depending on the vechicle so just get it as close as you can.

Thanks. I didn't know it was called "clocking". Yeah I thought that it was just stuck from rust, I figured it out on the compresson side, but of course thats aluminum so it wasn't stuck together. Better to ask than to mess up your expensive turbo
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
