Default b18c1 vtec question

well i just got finished with my gsr swap into my 96 ex coupe. took it for a spin and it dosnt seem like vtec is kicking in? everything is wired wright(i double and triple checked) and i do NOT get any cel's. i dont notice any change in motor sound or performance. i dont know whats going on here so please help me out. everything else seems to work and motor runs strong but i just dont think vtec is engaging. what do you think this could be. i searched but couldnt finda anything like my situation. thanks in advance.

VTEC crossover is quiet in a B18C1, not pronounced like a B16 or B18C5. Stock engagement is 4400, followed by the opening of the secondary butterfly valves at 6800 (which you should be able to hear).

The crossover is very smooth and you won't get a wwwwaaaaaaBWWWWAAAA at the engagement point. You should get it at 6800 when the butterfly valves open though. I assume you have intake and exhaust.
