Default B18C1 Motor???

I have a question...

Should you feel the VTEC engage @ 4500 rpms on the GSR motor or just hear it. I actually feel and hear the secondary butterflies @ 5800 but no VTEC at 4500, don't even hear it!

I ran it at the track tonight and was pulling 15.6's and 15.7's @ 90-91mph consistantly. That dosen't sound right, what do you think. It is in a 95 Honda Civic EX coupe on 17's w/ full interior. And it's not the driver. What should it be pulling? I don't think my VTEC is working...I prolly hooked the V-AFC up wrong eliminating VTEC.

factory setting for VTEC engagement is at about 5700rpm. thats why you hear it then. if you want it to engage a bit sooner, i suggest you get the APEXi VAFC. vtec airflow controller. which will also work nicely with your turbo kit you plan on getting, cuz it lets you adjust VTEC as well as you AFR. so there ya go. thats why you dont here it at 4500rpm, it engages at 5700rpm from the factory. and by the way, if you do get a APEXi VAFC, i wouldnt set your VTEC ehgagemtn muchlower then 4900-5000rpm.

and with a B18c1 in a 92 hatch with I/H/E and the afore mentioned APEXi VAFC w/ adjusted AFR and VTEC kicking in at 4900rpm ran consistent 15.30s at 95mph.

what are you talking about? the secondary butterflies open up at 5700 not the vtec. vtec engages at like 4400rpms.
