Youll notice a difference with both heads. Whichever you pick get a y8 intake manifold.

y8 has better combustion due to bigger quench zones. It also has a bend that causes a swirl effect in the intake tract that supposedly aids in atomization. However, some people will say that the z6 is better due to its straight through design. I really dont think one is necessarily better than the other. Seeing as you already have the y8 head just go with it. Besides, the y8 is obd2 as is your ek.

y7 tranny will get you into vtec in third at about 75MPH maxing out at 105MPH. After doing a mini me, id say just save up and get a B swap or some sort. mini me isnt worth the trouble. but if you must go with a EX tranny first as badguy said.

I've done the head swap and tranny swaps. The tranny swap was much more of an improvement. You won't feel a difference with the head swap. I did end up boosting the setup and it ran very well.

the best mini me set up to go with is pm7 pistons (dome), 99-00 Y8 head (has squard cambers) and a 95 si tranny, with this set up you will be taking out gzrs no prob.
