Default Climate Control Problem

Hey everyone. I'm having a problem with my climate control. It got kind of hard to move, and one day my friend went to switch it to heat and it just made a snap noise. Ever since then it's just been stuck on cold air, and it's freezing right now where I live. It won't switch to heat if I move the dial, it just moves but doesn't make a difference in the temperature. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix something like this. I'll try anything, thanks for any help.

you broke the airmix cable behind that switch

just take apart your dash (pull out shifter surround) theres a black cable that hooks up to your airmix motor.

good luck get at me if you have questions

How do I get to that cable? I've taken the whole heat box thing out before, but I couldn't really get into where the switch is.

Edit: I found the cable, the one with the metal ring at the end? I just don't know where to put it.

The cable runs from the back of the climate control, then down the right side of the cener console. Slide your passenger seat all the way back and look at where the plastic side of the console ends. The cable comes out there and runs along the carpet and then goes up under the dash near the glovebox area. lay on your back with your head where the passenger's feet would be and look up. The cable has a metal loop on the end of it and it just slides onto a nub on the underside of the dash. When you move the cable, it moves the nub which then changes hot/cold air. if the cable snapped somewhere in the dash, you can get heat for now by pushing on that nub up in the dash. It sounds really confusing, but go out to your car and you'll see what I mean.

if you cant fix the cable, at least manually move the lever at the control near the feet area. you can manually move it to hot.

I see the cable under the passenger side, it's connected to a white thing that looks like it should move to switch from hot to cold, but when I try to move it it doesn't move. How exactly do I manually switch it to heat?

Edit: Nevermind, I got it. Thanks a lot for your guys help, you are life savers. I don't know how much longer I could have drove around in 5 degree weather with my nuts basically falling off because of how cold it is. So yeah, thanks again, I really appreciate it.
