climate control cable problems
heres' the deal: the switch on the heater under the dash seems to be really hard to turn from hot to cold. this is causing the cable that is connected to be stripped so now i need another cable. but the plastic stop piece has broken off on one end b/c of the stress the cable put on it.
is there a reason the heater is flipping from hot to cold so hard? any way to fix it?
btw: i've lubed up everything that moves down there and it's still tough.

gointo the engine compartment and find the heater valve
take of fhte metal clip and just swing it open and closed a few teimes maye alittle lubricant
also, Sometimes the CLIPS holding hte metal wire in the interior get crusty and wont allow the line to move INSIDE... so take those off

Yes, you need to lube the cable beyond the firewall that is in the engine compartment. It should be low in the middle of the firewall. Spray the cable and control valve with wd40 and it should be like new.
sry but i did that guys. i sprayed the hell out of that whole assembly with silicone grease.
maybe it's just naturally that hard to pull. i have to put quite a bit of force to turn it by hand so i can't imagine that a little cable could pull with such force.
