Default possible axles issue?

hey guys..recently replaced clutch. put about 50 miles on it. as i was driving i switched to 2nd gear, the gear grinded and i was unable to accelerate. i did not beat the car, just normal shifting and throttle. the car goes into gear, and the speedo works as if i were moving, but the car goes nowhere. any ideas? oh yes. i jacked up the car to see if i could spot a problem, and as the car lifted oil started leaking out the drivers side axle. 1990 honda cvic dx.

Issues with any of the other gears? Did you DECELERATE when you were in second? And why did you bump when you hadn't fallen off the page yet

Well be more specific, not accelerating as in constant velocity, or not accelerating as in feels like you're in neutral and are coasting?

ok exact story. in thrid gear, downshifted into 2nd gear, let go of clutch slowly so the car didnt bog. i gave gas but i kept coasting. same thing with all gear. and the car lets me go into any gear without pressing the clutch.

sounds like you need to adjust the **** under the hood,,sometimes you have to do that after going from a worn out piece of **** to a brand new meaty clutch..

well try that atleast 1st since its the easiest thing to do

you never know if the previous owner may have adjusted the clutch because it was starting wear,,then when you put in a brand new one the setting/engagement is all screwed up...

about the speedo that's weird. all i can say now is check for full insertion on both ends
