i was inside a carpark today, and was looking for a spot to park. i was going slowly in second gear when i stepped on the gas a bit ( wanted to hear how my new exhaust sounded ),then i heard my exhaust note get louder , but the car hesitated a little bit before it accelerated. i tried it again, same result. is my it clutch slipping? other than this the clutch seems to be fine
that sounds more like hesitation from spark, air or fuel. how old are your spark plugs? when a clutch slips, its under higher acceleration. the rpms shoot up and the car goes no where. then there's the smell...
I have experienced the SAME EXACT THING. I stepped on the gas in first while I was in a parking lot and the RPM reved up but the car wasnt pulling like it usually does.
I thought about it and the only things that make sense are either its the clutch, or the ground is REALLY smooth and the tires were spinning.
Since iv never experienced it while on da street im hoping the ground was really smooth and the tires were slipping, hopefully thats the case for you too.

yeah i also thought about the ground being too smooth, plus carparks usually have an epoxy coating on the ground. but if that was the case i should have heard the tires spinning, or at least chirping

well. in this case..
i'd inspect or replace.
spark plug wires, spark plugs, fuel filter yes. in bold , check the cap and rotors on the dizzy, check timing

tnx for the advice, i just completed a tune up. i don't think it's an engine problem, coz i can HEAR the engine revving up when i punch it, but there's a split second lag before the car actually accelerates
If when you punch the gas, the engine revs up with the clutch pedal fully up but little/no acceleration then your clutch is definitely worn and slipping. What kind of mileage is on it?

second gear inside parking lot?? in order to get a good response from second gear you gotta be going 35-45mph.. so if you're trying to punch throttle at 20mph in second gear i would expect it to hesitate.. remember, high revving 4 cylinder has nothing going on below 5k rpm most of the time..
describe speed or rpm + gear that you're in when you're at WOT

this is simple to check... Just look at your tach. Its in ratio with your mph. So even if you spin the tires the mph is going to show. So...if you drop the clutch and the rpms go up and car doesn't goes any where, sounds like you've got a glazed clutch
I'll bet your tires were just slipping on some smooth pavement. I have Dunlop rubber (fm901), and those damn things don't make ANY noise when I spin them on any type of pavement. Makes it hard to gauge whats going on w/ an aggressive launch...
