when you leave ure foot on the clutch driving so that the clutch is rubbing instead of being fully engaged. Its very bad for the clutch, dont do it.

my friend says i ride the clutch when i engage it in first gear

all i do is get in first gear, give some gas (2.5k rpm) and then depress the cluch
what am i doing wrong???

my clutch chatters, and has since i taken ownership of the car
maybe he is refering to this??

i think he is trying to tell you that u stay on the clutch a bit longer than what he expected you to

is it damaging my clutch?
can i correct it? if i try to stay on less, then the car will jerk forward like im poping it

I dont put it up to 2500 i usually let it stay at 1000-1500 and let up on the clutch. Keep giving it gas so it stays at 1000-1500 rpms and just slowly let out.

well, my engine right now is kinda messed, so it idles at around 1000 (warm) - 1500 (cold) rpms.. so i guess holding it at those rpms is kinda usless...
but i get my new engine next week, so ill start then

if i do depress the clutch at 2000 or less, the car feels like it is ready to stall cause the tach drops right down to 100 rpms or less when i depress the clutch
