Default jdm automatic swap

im tryin to help my friend out with his swap he has a 97 ek coupe and he wants to put in a jdm gsr automatic what does he need to drop it in

No, I think you just need a bseries auto tranny, the motor doesnt matter theyre just different torgue conveters.. some canadian Si's came in automatic, But im not positive about that...

the canadian Si is the equivelant to our ex,s which came in auto also, i dont think the canadian SiR which is our Si came in auto

i'm pretty sure that the JDM models were available in auto's. B16 and GSRs. I highly doubt that the only difference is the torque converters.

With an engine that is all horsepower and very little torque, I wouldn't recommend an automatic. There's a reason that Honda didn't use them in the DOHC VTEC stuff here.
