Default d17 transmission ?'s

I'm trying to help a friend out and I don't know much about the ES/EM chasis. I've searched and can't find much. Does anyone know if the manual transmissions are the same for all d17 engines (except of course the hybrid) and if so what are the ratios? Also how do they hold up on boost (6-8psi)? I have heard both good and bad things. Any info would be great thanks.

EX is shorter geared than the LX.

Im not to sure what the ratio's are but im sure 2 mins on google and you could find out.

People have run up to 10psi on their stock tranny's with no problem, so i think 8 psi should be fine.

My friend is running about 8 PSI daily on his stock motor and transmission. He hasnt had any problems yet. Just make sure you have it tuned properly or there will be major problems.

we have shorter gears than the lx? sweet! Yea dezod sold me on which was better (boosting/swapping) and he said if I ever wanted to sell the car its a hell of a lot easier to take off a turbo. So its good to know our trannies can hold 8 psi

Yes and no, for N/A and low boost, short gears is better, but if u ever wanted to get more boost, longer gearing is better.
