Default turbo care questions

Hey all, i just got my first turbo vehicle, im going to be rebuilding the turbo soon, and i am wondering what are some good things to do to take care of it....

couple things ive heard is:
let the car run for 30 seconds b4 take you drive it???
and the other is let it set for 30 seconds at idle b4 you shut the engine down?

are these true? what kind of other things can keep my turbos life up there??

Thanks in advance

i personally let the car warm up fpr longer than 30 seconds, alot of people let vehicles warm up to full running temperature.

and also, yes let the car idle for 30-60 seconds b4 shutting it off, it cools the turbo. (why ppl buy turbo timers, they shut car off so u dont have to wait)

you should be letting your car warm up for 30 seconds no matter whats under the hood. and yeah avoid WOT and boost until its in the normal operating temperture. make sure to keep up with oil changes too.
