Default Turbo Timer ?

Is it true you have to have your car run to cool a turbo when its parked?

Default Re: Turbo Timer ? (slipknot23)

during daily driving and periods of boost
the turbine is spinning like a **** at very high rpm..

the turbo timer lets the turbo shaft 'slow' down
and at the same time, make oil run through
the turbo to 'cool' it down,

thats the basic point of the turbo timer
i guess you could just let your car idle and do without it,
but added features make them desireable..

hth..

Turbo timer's aren't necessary but are not expensive either. If you do hook one up, make sure to hook up the e-brake and speedo feature for your safety comfort. I for one am too paranoid to put one on. I'll spend the time in the car and let it idle.
