Default Vac. box question. Do I need a aftermarket?

Ok here is the deal. I am putting together my LS-VTEC and I ran into a little hangup. On the back of the block where the vac. box goes in my LS the hole into the block does not go through.

But in my GSR block it does go through to the crank case.

Does this mean I am going to have to run a endyne or other vac. canister?
None of my other LS blocks have been closed off like this. BTW it is a B18B block.
Thanks guys.

Someone might have sealed that hole. It should have been opened. Anyway its better to run aftermarket cans with the block vent holes instead of that pcv system it has.
