endyne sells block girdles for the ls motor.... bolts straight up, you have to use the gsr main bolts for the center though, and its recommended to do a line hone with it installed before running it, i'm not sure if endyne recommends to do a line hone or not

You could run the GSR girdle on the B18 LS block but you have to cut #2 3 and 4 caps down to the same size and then either get a ARP main stud kit for a B18C or main bolts for a B18C. ERL offers a ERL 5 pt girdle and we can machine your caps for you.

both the GSR and endyne block girdle need to be modified to work properly on an ls and the machine work to do so is not worth it !!!

with the endyn girdle all you need to do is modify your main caps for dowels and we suggest a line bore after install. we also make a girdle with step dowels so you don't have to machine your main caps for dowels but we still sagest line boring the block after install. if your not making more then 500hp don't worry about it if your making more then 500 thats when we suggest them to be safeOriginally Posted by slowdaintegra

im using a gsr girdle on a b18a block line bore was needed though
i ♥ snails
sounds like more trouble than it might be worth for most people with modest power levels

If you use the GSR main caps/studs that match the girdle its a direct bolt in. You WILL have to have align honed though.

you also used the 2 3 and 4 main caps or it would not have fit sorry just want top be sure they know what it takes to use oneOriginally Posted by tegman23

use your stock caps with a KMS girdle they can be had for 150 bucks and work great. nothing else is needed to use it. If you really want to get crazy you can have the caps and girdle machines to accept dowel pins but not nessesary IMO

I would just get GE's girdle since it requires minimal machine work and serves the same purpose. In the end it will save you money.

if you do not use dowels you might as well not put the main girdle it will do nothing for you also you are changing the torque on the mains to a line bore is neededOriginally Posted by Turbo-LS

There really isn't no set WHP to running one. If you plan to rev your engine and make a decent amount of power, run one. It won't cost you much to use why, so why not?

Isn't it more of an RPM thing anyway than power level?

Hey guy if i get this Golden Eagle Main Gridle & Dowels what do i need to do my Ls block any machine work to it ????? Or it just bolt on to the block???? And do i need to change Oil Baffle an the Oil Pick Up from Gsr to my LS block
Honda-Tech Member
i added a gsr girdle to my ls block... had to use the gsr bolts with the gsr oil baffle/pick up/windage tray as well as having the girdle cut to fit i believe... it cost more than i thought it would but its all worth it in the end.. ultimately fairly cheap insurance and good peace of mind too... i def. feel better and more confident about the motor now...
if you google it... or search on here you should find a few write ups on it and the part numbers you need to get if you do decide to go with the gsr set up versus after market or whatever.
i built the motor for 300whp+ daily so i thought it was worthy of it.. thats just an opinion though
