Default d16 vs. b18b

hey im about to do an ls swap into my civic and i currently have a y8 with i/h/e....my main purpose of doing this swap is to put an engine with alot less miles in, and the extra bit of torque. I was just wondering if after i do the swap will i feel any difference in power compared to my bolt on single

yea, this affects it alot. IF you go with a B16 tranny, you will notice a big difference compared to your D16.

im having a shop do the entire swap so its gonna be a complete b18b motor, tranny and everything. I dont want a b16 tranny, i like getting good gas mileage and im not planning on modding it too much, maybe just some bolt ons. if anything, if i decide to get serious and mod it ide switch to a itr tranny, but for now the ls tranny will do fine...im not down with the crusing at 4-4.5k on long trips...

You might as well just keep the D if your worried about gas mileage

The LS w/ an LS tranny gets fine gas mileage. It's long.

I feel a good compromise is an LS w/ a GSR tranny.

Either way, doesn't really matter.

You'll feel more kick in the mid to low end, but you won't be too impressed with the high end.

IMO If you doing bolt ons, keep your single cam. I own LS swapped civic's all day and i have SOHC ZC Vtec with I/H/E in Civic Lx Sedan, however if you get the B16 Tranny then go with the B18B or going FI

i pulled 15.23@90.6 with 2.29 60'

Pretty odd... When stock LS integra's can take a SOHC Vtec EG with ease...
I'd go with the b18b over any single cam motor.
No offense to those SOHC guys.
