which is better for turbo? Im using regular 10w40

it doesnt matter, just make sure you change it more than regularly.

i always use synthetic b/c supposedly it can withstand higher temps before it breaks down....although that could be marketing bs..idk

I've always been a big fan of synthetic myself. It basically builds up an extra layer of protection on the cylinder walls, so why not use it to lubricate and extra-protect the turbo IMO.

its not.. there a reason why only synthetics offer wider range multi visc. oils.. therea are couple decent conventional but its worth the money for full synthetic

but if your going to change it all the time.... regular oil... unless you are an out of control baller and can afford synthetic

i use castrol gtx for as long as ive known, its just more costly for me i change my fluids every 3 passes

this is what we run in our dragcars. Royal Purple Racing 41 doesnt get contaminated nearly as easy as compared to other oils(we are on alcohol also) and our oil has never come out looking like coffee

its always purple and smells good too


always run castrol GTX in my street beater

i run synthetic on all my cars turbo or no turbo Mobil1 is only 20 bux at walmart

on my car h22 with a gt3563e, the turbo didnt spin at idle with 10w-40 conventional oil, after 1k miles on my new motor, i switched to mobil 0w-40 synthetic.. the turbo spins at idle now.. lol i dont know if thats relevant or anything, just wanted to share that..
