hot or not? HELP.
recently bought a 91 crx si with a little work to be done for a great deal. it runs strong but im having a few problems. there are some seals that need to be fixed for sure and hopefully not a head gasket. im not losing dangerous amounts of oil at all, but it's def leaking fresh somewhere. i haven't had time to get into it yet so i wanted to post a few pictures. if anyone sees anything obvious please let me know.

i'm also having some issues with the car running hott, or possibly just the thermostat going crazy. at first my friend said the fan that came with the swap wasn't enough, but i've ended up seeing the same or similar fan (pictured below) used in swaps with more mods than mine. durring the short period ive had the car, the thermostat will sometimes graduallyrise all the way up into the H, but other times run fine. either way i can always rest my hand on the valve cover as soon as i pull over or back into my court as if it's not hott at all.
if the car IS getting hott what should i check or change?
if the car isnt and its the gauge then what will throw the gauge off?
thanks for reading.
legit cooling fan ?

definitely not a factory cooling fan.. looks like an aftermarket with the correct plug attached.
i think you need to drive your car faster so that it cools better..
your fan switch might be broken. do you ever hear the fan kick on? the fan switch is on the back of the block, right near your oil filter, if i remember correctly. you may also throw in a new thermostat just to make sure that isnt it. and the thermostat is cheap anyway.
i have the same oil leak on my d-series.. i think there is a cam seal on that side that isnt doing its job. ive got oil all over under the distributor. can anyone confirm the cam seal idea?

i sure the upper hose is connected? it looks off but I'm not trying to be a jerk. but anyways do a cam seal and vtec solenoid gasket to the head for the oil leak, most are from those two areas and just snug the oil pan gasket the mounts shake the bolts loose over time. i guess hook the fan motor up to 12v power source to see if it works then look into the switch or wiring

IS that radiator hose even connected in that picture?

holy **** hahaha.
yeah those hose is NOT connected.
i loosened the clamp to remove the fan because i was going to replace it with one from a newer civic. def would have checked or noticed that. the problems have nothing to do with it but good eyes.
