Default Shaking at 50-60 MPH

Hows it going everyone? I just had a set of 215/40R17's installed on my '03 I havent had the chance to lower it yet. As I'm accelerating from 50MPH to 60MPH I get vibration from the steering wheel. Any idea of what it could be?

It sounds like they're not balanced properly. Are the correct weights mounted on the wheels? Are they new, or off something else? (i.e another car, not an EM2)

It's unlikely, but check your wheelnuts too, though i'm sure your wheel would have fallen off by now if it were that...

Actually, when I got my car, the first time it was serviced, the mechanic didn't put the lug nuts on all the way, so my car vibrated. It was nice to know that my lugs weren't stripped from the driving, as well.

I tightened them myself after I felt the vibration. I bought them from a friend who had an EM2 but wanted to return it to stock. I had the wheels installed by Wheel Works. Should i take them to a different shop and have them checked to see if they are balanced?

In that case, i'd take them back to where they were fitted and tell them to do it properly!

try this.... Put on ur stockers and go for a cruise, if the car doesnt shake. Then its something wrong with ur new wheels, probably vibration, but maybe they are out of round.

If the stockers vibrate too, then u got a bigger problem.
