Default LS vs GSR vs B16 Trans for BOOOST

hey H-T
Im about to boost my internally stock B16 Civic and have a bad 2- 3 and 3-4 grind in my CABLE B16 trans...
My question in what is what trans to go with next. This is a DD/ weekend racer. If I can make 300 hp I will be a happy camper. (arp bolts, CTR cams, intake mani and larger TB. Turbonetics kit w/ T3To4e 57 trim. All elase stock internal B16)
I know the shorter B16 and GSR gears are better for exceleration, but is it worth using the longer and much less expensive LS cable trans with boost?
Where will the LS put me in the RPM/ VTEC range after shifts? Will it be a dog and put me in too low of an RPM an too far out of VTEC, or will it better to build boost from the lower RPM?
It has been my experiance that ALL the older cable B Trans are prone to crapping out/ grinding gears, so is it worth going with a more expensive newer hydro GSR trans? I will need a different clutch set up w/ the Hydro trans correct?
Im just looking for some input from people that have tried these different set up's.
Thanks guys...
Hank

For the power you are making, I would stick to a B16 or GSR trans.

LS would only recomend if you put 500+ on the street.

b16 with gsr tranny, gears arent too short and not too long better on gas than a b16 tranny

i personally have an LS transmission on an SC61 ls/vtec with only about 320-350whp. it seems to be geared just a LITTLE, TEENY bit long for my setup, only because by the time im done spinning 2nd/3rd gear, it somewhat bogs in 4th (probably more driver error than anything, lol) . i dont really know what im getting at, because everyones setup is different (ie. tires, wheels, horsepower goals etc. etc.) but if i could go back and do it again, i would probably try and get a GSR trans, possibly with an LSD.

i have a b16, very short geared, raced on the street before on street tires, i cant do it, i run out of gear before i even reach half track, but on the race track with big slicks its a different story, i finish the 1/4 in 4th

i ran the same exact thing last year, ls trans and about 330whp. i did love the long 4th gear for highway pulls though....

to the op, i think that a gsr transmission will be the best of both worlds, gears are still close so you dont fall too low in the rpms and loose spool, but you can get a little more speed out of it. it sucks driving a car that goes 0-100 pretty fast, but doesnt go anything above that(give or take of course)

GSR hands down. Not too long and not too short.
