Default Buying motor

Im trying to prepare for a swap in the comming months.

Im really trying to get the B16a2 motor from the 99-00 si bc it would be easiest since i have a 00' civic ex. I looked on Hmotorsonline.com and they only sell motors that are from 92-95 or less. has anyone bought the 99-00' si motor from hmotorsonline? would they stock something but you have to ask? and if no for both where is a good place to buy the exact motor im looking for besides jhpusa.com that would also ahve the options for the lsd and hasport mounts?

thanks for the help.

-Drew

any other reason why you would only want a b16a2? if you just think it's easier then almost any other b-series is going to be as easy as the b16... i say u go for the b18c gsr almost around the same price range.

im stuck on the B16. cant change my mind there. but seeing as hmotorsonline.com sells usdm motors you would think you could buy the b16a2. I dont really want to deal with having to change it from obd1- obd2.

i wouldnt even know if you would need to do anything do do that.

Don't get to "stuck" on the B16 cuz ones you drop all your money and time on the swap you will most likely be a little disappointed on the performance factor. You might as well look for a gsr long block and get a good lsd tranny and then the mounts and extras you need.

Just letting you know my experience. The B16 is not all that. At least not for the bank it takes.

get the jdm b16 gen 2
gen 1=160hp
gen 2=170hp
the way to tell is the vtec and dohc on the valve cover, plus the plugs for injectors and dist.
i've got my **** gutted, otherwise it'd be slow

Couldn't agree more with SauceJa. I had a B18 in my sol and now I have an B16 in my EH3 and it is nothing compared to the gsr. My car feels like a dog and I wish I still had my B18.

Nice

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1876749

^^ Read that.

GSR for the little extra money is a lot more motor per dollar spent.

But really, if you're a true pimp you'd rock a k20 or an H2b. h2b can be done in style for under $5000
