Castrol in plug hole #1
So last night a friend and I were cleaning my air filter and a few other misc maintenance things under the hood, and he was using some castrol-simple green like stuff (oil & grease remover) in liquid spray form to clean the oil and crap off my valve cover. He used too much, and some got into the top of cyl #1 (far right).
Didnt notice, we finished up and I started the car, only to be greeted with what sounded like a whole lot of ignition problems. Turned the car off right away, and found liquid in the hole. We managed to sop up almost all with paper towel etc and tried it again. Much better results.
As I drove home, I noticed as soon as I stepped on the gas more than like 10% throttle it would sputter and lag almost like it was not firing on that cyl. Got it home ok, and removed the plug wires to let it dry overnight.
Still having the same problem this morning, even though under inspection the spark plug hole looks dry.
What should I do? Should I replace the spark plug(s)? I'm afraid to take it out, because then if there's any leftover liquid it might fall underneath the plug?

I dont see why the stuff wouldnt dry out and be fine... Did you clean more than just the valve cover? Did you spray the hole engine bay down with water? Moisture in dizzy???
Nope
*edit - I dont THINK so. I didnt, but I will double check with him. If he did, what do I need to do?

maybe the cleaner did something to the plug boot? corroded the connector inside?

pull the wires and inspect them. look down the spark plug holes, and make sure there is no liquid sitting there. If you are worried that there is still some left in the motor....plug all the plugs out. Take the f.i. fuse, and ecu fuse out, and crank the motor over, stop. Then crank the motor over again. i saw at least 5-6 turns both times(you can do it more than 2 times if u have liquid coming out. If there is anything in there it should come out. This is just MY ADVICE. hope it helps....
Looks like that's exactly what happened. Swapped the plug wires out for other ones, and it runs fine.
Unforunately, these were Crane Cams wires worth about $140
Is there any way to fix them?

The past two times i cleaned out my engine bay, My spark plugs always seemed to get wet. anyways. I had the same problem, it will sputter lag, Use more towel rage and keep soaking it up and dry it as much as possible. oh and by the way you may need to change spark plugs. goodluck
