HID's ? Removing glare guard?

i put hids in my eg hatch and noticed that maybe they could be a little brighter if i removed the little metal piece that is in front of the headlight bulb. i just wanted to know if anyone has removed it and has had problems with blinding people or being too bright.

Your PnP HIDs already glare enough. Now you want to blind people even further?
