superwhite bulbs that wont blow out??
Anyone know some good superwhite xenon headlight bulbs that I should
get for my eg hatch, that wont die in a year or so.
I had some for around a year, and the right bulb just up'n died.
the headlights still work fine, and the left bulb worked fine. but mismatching looks stupid, so I just put my stockies back in.
I do like how the superwhites look,
so do you guys have any advice on what brand I should get, thats really nice'n bright, that wont die?? is it the high output that kills em? or shotty construction?
if its the high output.. then I guess i'm screwed.. but otherwise there should be a good brand that puts out well made product?
thanks.

i'm no ricer punk
I have no intention of shelling out 500bucks for frickin lightblue headlights, when I can get bulbs for 20bux that give me %90 of the look.
NOW, i've been browsing ebay.
and came across these. what the auction claims sounds great.
and they're a bit more expensivo than other bulbs.. so I dunno.
what do you guys think?

Re: (Tad)
If you just want the look then you have no choice but to buy bulbs that will go out on you every once in a while. Buy some Piaa's they have a life time warranty so you can take them back to the store you bought them from and swap them out.
Oh and super white bulbs don't even come close in looks let alone performance to HID's. You obviously never owned a set. If you have a buddy or know someone that has a set then park your car next to theirs. If you come away thinking you lights are 90% close in difference then either your buddies HID's suck or one of you is blind. lol.

Re: (Tad)
Get some builbs that have lifetime warranty from a place that will be here for a while. That way when they blow you can replace them for free. Piaa, I think maybe Sylvania, etc.

Re: (Tad)
HIDs aren't about "a look"
Its about visibility. The amount of visibilty GAINED by putting HIDs into your car is about equal to the amount of visibility you will lose by putting those ricer hyperwhite bulbs into your car. Those bulbs are only blue because they have a FILTER on them, which FILTERS out the yellow range of the light, which in turn equals less light. Sylvania Silverstars are the only good bulb that appear 'whiter', IMHO, because they have no blue filter around them.
HIDs make a huge positive difference. Hyperwhite bulbs make a huge negative difference. Try driving in the rain with some PIAA or Nokia hyperwhite bulbs.

Re: (civicscantdrift)
Actually I got a sick deal for those Piaa HID bulbs (I think they retail for 60 bux a piece). I got them for free (Swapped out some other Piaa's I had and did soem creative exchange).
They were worst bulbs I ever had. They looked pink. Bought HID's a month later.

Re: (Apex i ITR)
superwhites=just another ricer who's trailing in my rear view mirror...
They will always blow out, I've owned just about every pair of bulbs you can think of.
You can spend $500 on headers, $500 on exhausts, $200 on cold air intakes and crap like that and you won't shell out $400 for some HID that serve a great function?????
Think about how much money most of us have spent on pair after pair of superwhite bulbs, when we could have just bought HID in the first place.
just buy HID.

hrmm, interesting.
my last set of bulbs were definetely brighter(i could see better) than my stockies.
noticed my vision was better when I put em in, and everything was dimmer when I took em out.
and they lasted me about a year.
20bux for a year is fine with me.

damn straight, I love that 1200 bucks in imaginary i/h/e I have done to my car!
way better than HID !!
OH WAIT!!! .. thats right.. I dont have any of that.. your making ignorant assumptions.. . ahhhh, it all makes sense now.
you did get one thing right.. no way in hell i'd pay 400 bux for headlights,
i'd rather have "ricer" superwhites that blow out in a year, or stockies.
