Default pepl w/ Greddy Kit

to all the people who have the Greddy Turbo Kit what add ons or changes did you do to the original kit. I have am new to turbo, but i've been reading upon it for a while. I also live in CA so i want the car to be legal. If i do turbo my car, i would not have the IC and BOV, and boost no more than 6psi. greddy said the LS kit is out already am i'm looking foward to getting it. Any suggestions will help thanks.
here is a list of what i'm look foward to get
oh for those who don't know i'm stuck with an AUTO. thats why i want greddy and not revhard or drag. i actaully would my car faster i know i might have tranny problems, but i hope the tranny cooler would work for its best. but 5psi should be no problem.
1. Greddy LS kit
2. apexi AVC-R
ADD TO MY LIST PLEASE. i'm sorry i'm new and i did do alot of searching.

i say get the IC... it will definitely help. and I'm not sure, but dont GReddy kits come with a GReddy BOV? If not, does it at least have a bypass? The stock kit should be more than good enough for what you say you want, but the heat temps will soar without an IC. also be sure to get a good exhaust, as that turbo is a major exhaust restriction.

I would really get the blow of valve because that compressor surge sounds like a damm horse. As for the fuel management that greddy will include I'm pretty sure it's going to be a crappy blue box. From their kits that are aready out those blue boxes suck. Most of the boxes throw up codes, some lean out near redline, and others just don't work at all. I would also add some colder plugs to that list.

Yep, getting codes suck. The kit is legal w/o the ic and BOV, adding those voids the carb exemption cause they weren't covered under the kit. And no, greddy kits don't come with the BOV sadly. The only changes I had to do were, wire the blue box differently, lengthen the o2 sensor, and trim some plastic wire holder near the oil sending unit. This is on a 99 EX though. Good luck

I'd get the IC and BOV...colder plugs. That's all I have done right now...stock exhaust Stock everything else, sadly I am using the blue box, but I am in the process of going Hondata.

so anything else besides colder plugs? i also would be getting a 2.5" or 3" exhaust from the cat back. leaning on the 2.5" side; will lose less power when not in boost and not too bad because only boosting 5psi right ?

I put the Greddy kit in my best friends car and didnt have to change one thing. It did run a little lean on the top end (probably what blew the ring lands) but ive got a Hondata to put in and will 86 the blue box that came with the kit. Fitment of everything was excellent. I regret not getting the DRAG kit now because we built the motor and the internal wastegated 18g isnt enough anymore. Probably gonna go bigger very soon.

the avc-r is a boost controller. if you want to run anything higher then the stock setting on the greddy turbo you will need a boost controller. it can only go as low as the stock setting and as high as the turbo can produce (roughly 15psi for that turbo)

i would get some greddy boost gauges at least to compliment the kit. The avcr might be a little overboard for your plans, maybe a greddy profec b might be sufficent. But its all up to you. If you ever need help with any kind of installation, im very close.

I would add a BOV, boost guage, and plugs that are 2 steps colder as a bare minimum...

if you intend to run low boost, all you need is the kit, BOV, and boost gauge IMO. I know you wanna stay smog legal and that's the reason you don't want the BOV but just get it. Once smog comes around, I intend to fabricate a block off plate to cover the flange and take off the BOV. The boost gauge is good to give you an idea of when and what you are boosting.
