Default whats should the tops of my pistons look like??? on a turbo setup?

When i look down in there. what should the tops look like?
black completly, or black with a few parts of the silver still visiable in little areas. the areas are not round they are just little splashes of silver that i can see... any ideas? thanks

Hmm.. when I take my plugs out, and look in there (when I'm doing a valve
alignment).. the top of my piston (what I can see at least).. is TOTALLY silver,
and it looks like it has a bunch of small metallic imperfections/specks on it.

Oh also my pistons have only 3,000 miles on them and there 8to1 compression. i have both an inline pump and a bbk in the tank and timming is pulled a bit. i also only run 7psi tops. and i only run the 8th mile. mine dont look like any imperfections just a bunch of dirty and clean spots on them. please so ore input would b e great as im gonna run it tonight at the track. thanks

I was told if there specs on it then its detonation. When my motor blew last year the pistons were black with tiny spots on them. looked like some one had lightly hit them with a pointed punch. But my new pistons dont have an easy to see specs they just look as if the tops of them are dirtyer in some places more than others. any help please?

without taking off the head... you can't really tell much by looking down the spark plug hole. it's really dark in there and even with a light... there's a lot of illusions going on, and what you think you see... is totally different from what you see when the head is completely off.

i say don't really worry about it too much. if you're detonating bad, it will show up on your plugs.

what should i look for on my plugs? right now they are a bit grey at the tips but rest is kinda black. im rnning it rich right now till i get the hondata in. thanks for the help
