nasty oil leak
hey guys.....hmmm where to start, Well I got my car back from the muffler shop and and was trying to get everything complete on my car last night so I could drive to the tuner this morning and get her tuned. I am having an oil leak coming from the back of the engine, it looks like it is coming out from where the head meets the block, around the number 4 cylinder there is a puddle on the block that is fresh. I had the head shaved to make it completely flat although it was in tolerance and the block was also in tolerance. it is leaking quite a bit and i cant seem to find if this is the only spot where oil is seeping from. I thought after researching that I might have put the head gasket on upside down by accident so I went to take the head off and check earlier, but while doing it I pulled the valve cover off and looked at the head and took a flashlight and looked inside and down all the drain holes and none of them are covered from the headgasket being put on upside down. I was thinking that when I put it on that it would only go one way anyways. So if the head gasket isnt on backwards, I did put it on correct using the bolt patters and using 32 51 and 72 ftp to torque, where could the leak possibly be coming from, could the headgasket be bad?
well i had a bad oil leak with my car and i could not find were it was coming from but then i found this link and every problem i was having he hit it right on the noise and sure enough this was my problem (it was a big leak too)
