I have a 99 gsr tranny on my ls motor,now everytime am drivin the car on the highway and I shift 5th gear the tranny will run and then put it back to neutral, sometimes it does often like 2 or 3 times in a mile sometimes it doesn't do it in 10 miles.....I have no idea what could be causing the problem...any ideas or suggestion are needed plz let me know..

 

It sounds like the shift linkage is not positioned correctly.

 

I have the swap over a year now and it has never happen'd, everything was working fine for more than a year and all the other gears works fine but they are starting to feel a lil be hard when I shift to any gear ...do you still think it could be the shift linkage??

 

You could have a mount going bad. It it equally difficult to engages second and fourth gear?

 

All the gears engages fine even the fith one,it would just come back to neutral sometimes

 

If it's popping back into neutral, it could be low on trans fluid,
mine did the exact same thing with 5th gear.

 

I'm pretty sure it's low on trans fluid. Thats what mine did put tranny fluid didn't pop out anymore.

 

All right...ima put some oil in the tranny ..asap...bcuz that shyt was driving me crazy....thank u guyz.

 

You might wanna figure out too if it's actually leaking,
because if you get Too low, then your trans is cooked.

 

Damn r u serious I just check'd it and it look'd like its been having a leak..so if it is really low fluid you think the tranny may be done?

 

You would know if it went because it would lock up,
mine had a small leak inside the bell housing, and locked up two days later.

 

Oo0O damn mines isn't locking up yet I'll have to take care of that before I have 2 get $400 outta mah pocket for another tranny......
