JDM B18C w/ CTR Pistons??
I recently had a bit of dirt pass through my engine due to a hole in my intake tube, and a dirty filter. The majority of the shortblock is fine, I'm going to slightly bore the cylinders and would like to use CTR pistons. My question is how much will the block have to be bored for them to fit correctly. From my understanding these pistons will work w/ my existing connecting rods, as well as work w/ my head. Another question i have is will i have to change anything due to the slight increase in compression, possibly head gasket? Im looking for feedback on what exactly i'll need to get this to work in my engine. After seeing prices for shortblocks for the R, i've decided that bore-ing it would more then likely be the way to go. For the record as well, i did search, but found nothing to do w/ the jdm r, only people trying this on their usdm c1 gsr-s, any help would be greatly appreciated as i am trying to get my car back on the road asap.
Thanks
Thanks

BZZZZZ wrong answer, do some more searching for the right answer.
this is the exact reason belben posted up the BS in the forum thread.

check for yourself besides i wasn't misinforming anyone it might not be 100%correct but that i why i also said to search before anything was done.

that doesnt account for a CTR piston having .030 taller compression height over all other B series pistons. therefor put your piston to deck height at 0.00 then recalculate. go find pics of the pistons. better yet here you go.

When you say JDM B18C is that the SIR-G/GSR or ITR motor? Installing CTR/PCT pistons will surely bump the CR up. 1 2 NV
is correct also, you really should do a search because I myself am using CTR/PCT pistons on my JDM B18C-R and it sure is no 12.CR.........

honestly the only reason i had that book marked is because i was contemplating CTR replicas or the PR3 replicas in 82mm.
the only thing that confuses me most is that my forged JE pistons are supposedly 6.7cc and the CTRs are 8.63, yet my JEs come to a complete dome where the CTRs have half a dome.
anyways i decided to go with the PR3s in my motor because i dont want to mess with errors in the tune.

1 2 NV, how about you show me these posts, when i type b18c w/ ctr pistons, there are two that come up, this and one other, which is a gsr shortblock w/ ctr pistons. As i had stated in the opening comments,i had searched, there for letting everyone know that their elementary bashing on me searching first would do no good.
agreed, you will have hundreds of people that will say otherwise. everyone talks about running CTR pistons in a street car on pumpgas but no one ever talks about what head gasket they are running. they are probably overcammed for their setup etc etc. im sure they are making power but at what expense to their reliability? i dont for one second believe that these things are fully tuned either. i believe they have more in them. hell i run a legit 13.4:1 on old outdated cams that were big for their time and i run race gas to be certain.
P30's it is! Anyone have an idea how what the approx. compression ratio will be? Also should I consider running a different head gasket?

the http://www.zealautowerks.com calculator takes in to account the different compression heights of pct's. the c-speed does not.

This spring/summer coming up i will be rebuilding my motor as well, withl the seals that acura offers top and bottom gasket kits, since i have not gotten anything replaced since i got the motor swapped 3 years ago.
Would tuning be highly recommended if pistons were being changed out to a b16 p30 on a jdm b18cr motor with stock jdm r ecu? noob question but never really got around to ask questions at the shop where im at.
