what is the standard engine in a 1995 civic hatch? no swap, straight up stock.. iwas told a d15 but like i have a d16z6 in mine... so what is the d15 _ _

 

It depends on what trim level you have the Si hatch will have a d16z in it if the emblems were removed a few things to look for power sunroof and power side mirrors, cruise control, rear wiper assy and rear disk brakes.All but the power sun roof a easy to swap into a non Si. So the vin number is another way to check. run the vin and it will give you all the info on the car or look at the insurance card for the car it will say the trim level based off the vin number. if its any other trim the car came with some version of the d15 motor in it

Your welcome! So what did you find out? Oh by the way if you have the d16z then the engine is also a vtec......even if its not printed on the valve cover. I believe that if you have a cover with vtec on it then you have a swap or someone changed the valve cover. I believe all the 92-95 Si/EX did not have vtec on the valve cover. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this point.
