Default Pr3 pistons-b18a block burns oil

I have a set of pistons from a 1st gen b16a, great condition, building an ls vtec setup, using a b18a block that burnt oil, will send block out to get honed and whatever it needs, my question is what are the chances these pistons will fit in the block once its cleaned out, im assuming oversized pistons and rings will be needed, does anybody have any idea what my chances are, or other alternative, thanks for all your help guys.

If they are factory standard size b16 pistons and you are not getting bored to a larger diameter, then the pistons will fit just fine. Get the block honed and new piston rings and that should stop the oil burning issue.

They will up the compression pretty good for a b18a, until you put on the vtec head

the best thing you should do is to measure the X and Y axis (buttom-mid-top) on each of the bores using a bore guage with at least 0.001mm dial indicator for better accuracy. check your helms manuals for more details.

thanks for reply but you didnt quite answer my question,

the b18a block in its stock form burnt oil like crazy, im in the process of building an ls vtec, still gathering all my parts. I have a set of b16 pr3 pistons, assuming the block needs to get bored-honed, will the used pr3 pistons still work in the b18a block, will i just need bigger rings, or will i need bigger pistons and rings, does that make more sense at all, thanks again.

so what your saying there's no sense in guessing it is what it is, it's either ok, or needs new pistons, hard to guess

the block in stock form with b18a head on it burnt oil, i havent put anything together for ls vtec, i have a set of used pr3 pistons, will they fit after block is honed- or bored whatever needs to be done to it, i havent put anything together yet, im looking to build with the parts i have, but never mind ill let the machine shop decide if they'll do or not.
