Default WHAT WOULD U DO ?

dont really know how to start

i finish my car today ... rebuild and all that
smokes like hell it seem to be that the pistons are too small for the bore of the block and the intake gets flooded with oil , i can see oil coming out of the trottle body and all that so now i need some advice of what should i do .. reesleve it ?, compression test shows 160 on all 4 cylinders i been working on this car for abot 10 months and it really sucks to see whats happend after the first run , now my question is , is there anyway to fix this block without reesleving ..? I though about custom pistons but I thinks thats not gonna do it .....

sorry for my english
and thanks in advance

81.5 mm srp pistons ,the guy I bough the block said it was 81.5 too
one more thing the motor make a sound like the pistons were hitting the valves but its not it its the pistons moving around the slevees

its hard to belive that u would have a 160 pounds with too small of a piston. why wouldnt you check before you assembled? and even then oil shouldnt come out of the intake becouse of that.

Wait, wait, you didnt know the exact bore of the cylinder, and you bought some pistons hoping they would fit?

Piston slap. Machinist made the bore too big for the piston... the machinist was given the piston to match to the bore, along with SRP spec sheet, yes?

I'm wondering if PCV system is still plumbed into the intake tract, and has no catchcan/vent.

If there is oil in your intake, its probably your turbo blowing oil out of the compressor side, could be several reasons..

slight piston slap/noise is kinda normal with some forged pistons..

Piston slap with a high silicon piston, like stock or the SRP, is unacceptable.

Piston slap with a low silicon forging, like Wiseco, CP, or true JE... is barely noticeable with a professional build when engine is cold, if at all. Although the good ole boy machinist always makes yer bore a bit bigger, so she sounds like a sewing machine even when warm

no the guys told me that both were 81.5 mml bore and pistons .. .. what would be the solution to this problem ? buy another block and bore it out to specs with the srp diameters and sizes ?

everithing on my block is new , eagles, bearing, pumps ,and all that .. do u guys think I would be able to fit all my internals into a ls block ? would I need some custom parts ?

what block do you have now?

so let me get this straight you bought a block and pistons off a guy disassembled then took them and had it assembled at a machine shop? but didnt bother to get either checked for size to make sure that they were right?

are you sure that the turbo isnt blown and leaking oil out into your charge pipes and getting into the intake?

also what size oil feed line are you running for the turbo? and is the drain line slopped down hill? with no dips or flat spots in it?

no i build the block

well this is how it goes

i bough both pistons and block from the same guy ..i kinda fit the pistons into the block and I saw that the pistons were a little bit loosy and I ask him and he said that thats how u do it for a fi set up bc of the pistons they tendo to expand when they are hot .. so my gess is everithing is ok now i got everithing up and runing but having lots of oil in my intake and yes I check allready no the oil is not coming from the turbo bc i check the charge pipes and they were dry and not with oil I even check the compressor side nothing wrong with the turbo ..

when you put the pistons in the bore, you did have rings on them right? of course they are gonna move around if you didnt have the rings on at the time..

valve lash?

also would like to know,

did you fit the rings? and did you check the piston to wall clearance? if so what numbers did you get?

i would have taken it to a machine shop and had everything checked.

OK then.......

1). Did you have the machine shop size the piston/cyl wall clearance? If so, what did they tell you they set it at and did they have to bore the block any (they shouldn't have just a hone).

2). Pistons I sold you were 20 over (which is .5mm).

3) Block was sold to you w/ an 81.5mm bore.
