im just finishing up a b16 swap into a 94 hatch and im pulling a code 13

13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor

i found that on the ecu thread, but i don't understand what sensor that is. can anybody point me in the right direction? i tried searching but i cant seem to get the information about what/where this thing is and how to fix it.

thank you.

You sure that's not the MAP sensor?
5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor

(code 5)

I'm pretty sure the atmosphere sensor deal is a sensor INSIDE the ECU.

Though I'm not positive, I know there's one sensor there, lemme check helms, brb.

Yeah, I just checked my helms, code 13, the atmospheric sensor also known as the "PA" sensor is built into the ECU.

I personally have never had this sensor go bad, so the only thing I can suggest is swap it with a known working (non-CEL throwing) ECU and see if the problem continues (which I don't think it will).

EDIT:
Try pulling the fuse entitled "backup fuse" (in the engine bay fuse box) for 30 seconds or so and plugging it back in (this will reset the ECU), then starting the car, see if the CEL persists.

Then try swapping out the ECU and see if the CEL still persists.

Have you even ever heard of one of those PA sensors going bad?

I haven't .

hmm thanks for the info, I'll have to try that next time i work on it. the only other ECU i have is a d15 ecu laying around from my old engine, so, hopefully re-setting it works and clears it.
