i have a swapped b16a into a 95 civic lx four door. the problem is when i turn the car to start, the motor doesnt crank. the electronics in the car turn on but not the motor. the speedo jumps twice to 65mph and sticks there. i checked all fuses and power connections...what can it be????

 

Check your grounds, and double check all your wiring

 

did all that. i work on car sound systems and i know alot on wiring. all the grounds are good still no power to motor

 

Follow the wiring back to the starter. If you want to cheat, turn the car to on, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, and take a wire and run it from the + on the battery and touch the Signal "tab" on the solenoid.

 

if ive had problems with the dizzy before, could that be the problem? i have a modafied NON VTEC dizzy on there right now from a B20. the thing has like 15000 miles on it. could that be a factor?

 

do you even get a crank, or nothing at all. if nothing, check if the groung on the therostat housing is hooked up. thats the ground for the ecu. is the starter hooked up and is the motor getting spark

 

does the starter come on? if not check the little wire that goes to it..
the you got clutch switch...
starting relay..
