Default H22 EG Problems

I have a 92 cx with a JDM h22. While driving to work this morning, when I went to shift into 2nd gear it was like I was in nuetral. I went through all the gears and the same thing. Nothing was engaging. Anyone have any ideas as to what this might be?

Thanks

shift linkage most likely. Can you be a little more specific?

Thats all I can really explain now, I'm at work. I just went to shift into 2nd gear and when I depressed the clutch the car was just like in nuetral. I press the gas while in gear and it just revs up.

You may need a new clutch. Can you still feel the gears when you shift?

When the car is in gear and I depress the clutch there is a slight grinding like noise.

your shift cables broke, and you're not actually in gear, go pop the hood and use your hand to switch gears with the car off, make sure they feel alright that way

Thanks for the response. I will have to wait until I get off work in a few hours to check that. Thats alot better news than tranny problems.

I agree with bb4ever... Sounds like a shifter cable problem. Won't be a hard fix at all.

Ok, bad news is it isn't the shift cables. The speedo is moving. My mechanic stopped by and we checked the shift cables first. They are moving properly. He noticed the speedo moving and the noise coming from the tranny. So I guess I need to start saving. I really hate the H22 tranny's.

The tranny already had a quaife in it.
