Default Enough Mods To Need a Tune?

Motor Starts Up on tuesday I wanted to know if it imperative that i go get a tune first or is this setup mild enough to not warrant a tune? maybe a kenji basemap or even stock ecu?

B16a: New crank, Eagle Rods, Probe 11:1.1 CR pistons
Stock Gsr Head w/S2 valves and springs
JDM Itr headers, straight pipe exhaust, AEBS intake mani, S2 throttle body, Bigger fuel rail, and 270 RC injectors

Must be tuned. With the higher compression and more airflow..its a must..Especially if this was a B16 stock b16 basemap that it was running on before the build.

any time you change the setup from what the factory tuned it to be to get your moneys worth or the max of what you change then you need to tune also need to tune depending on what you do to the motor for the safty of the motor

Most definately (as if you need anymore confirmation), you are dealing more compression, larger injectors, and improved overall flow so although it will probably crank, idle, and maybe even drive "ok", you will neither know if you are safe or dangerously lean not to mention you are not getting your money's worth out of the parts you installed.

If you just wanted to crank it and maybe baby it to a dyno or a local tuner, then yeah, I personally would do that but once again, that will vary from person to person on what they are willing to do as well.

well for babying your car down to the dyno shop you could always turn down the timing and turn up the fuel of you have a fuel pressure reg to make sure your not going to hurt your car down to the dyno shop

as for what you need to tune your car well in the strictest sense of the matter that depends on the tuner most will do it from a dyno

BUT there are some who will only tune your car on the street/drag strip because there argument is that real world driving conditions are not simulated but best results for your needs are produced in real time driving conditions!
