ewww painted interior...
just picked up a 91 si rolling chassis with mint si seats for 400 cdn. all it needs is a motor/trans and its off and running, the only problem is the interior. the last owner decided to paint the top half where its dark grey white to match the exterior. looks like he used cheap spray paint and its kinda dull, looks like white out, lol.
can i repaint it to stock colour and not have it look terrible, or since its not done too ricey where all the vents and handles are painted, shoud i repaint it in white but with proper prep, paint and clear to make it look good or atleast better??

myself i would repaint it properly with a matching color of white. sounds like it would look pretty cool. it would make things a bit different from waht u see everyday so why not? just my 2 cents. have a great day!

Ahh Idk. I mean you could find some stripper and start taking the **** off. If it doesnt get it off good enough to look stock again then I would sand it, prime it and paint it. Good Luck.
O yeah if you go with fixing it take some before and after pics. Sounds like a good how to .

i wonder if its worth it/possible to sand the leather look plastic grain smooth then paint it body colour.

my interior was half assed like that too. i went to walmart in the automotive area and got vinyl paint, it worked pretty good. one side was red, one was gray, i painted them both black.
did it turn out to look like stock? thats what i would really like a stock look, does anyone know the name of the stock grey? the previous owner fortunatly left the black black, but painted the grey white.
if i remember correctly, oven cleaner will take the paint right off. also you will want to use duplicolor trim paint. you can "sand" the plastic interior with a scotchbrite? pad so you dont take off the texture on the interior

oh cool, do you leave the oven cleaner on for a while or just spray on wipe off? ill try and find as close to stock grey as i can.
great link! my only problem is this guy didnt touch the vents and such, but the bigger pieces like the upper dash piece, where the vin is, the entire upper portion of the door panel, the pieces where the seatbelts are covered up by the trim.
