Default CFK bypass and emissions

Before anyone says anything, I already did a search, and only found the scimatics for the bypass, and nothing on how it works with emissions.

http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/ckftrick.htm

I know it is used to make the USDM ECU run better on JDM engines, but will it though any codes when you go to get your car inspected. I have a 98 civic ex with a JDM b16 obd2b in it. I am trying to pass emissions as we speaks so I can get some tickets resolved. I do NOT have the pipe or dyno test in my state, only the OBD2 plug up and a basic safty inspection.

Looks to me like it should work. It depends on whether the ECU's fooled or not. If you hook this up and the CFK sensor CEL goes away then you're set.

I sure as **** wouldn't use those ghetto splicers though.

Basically it connects the CKP out from the dizzy to the CFK input on the ECU. My guess is the ECU's looking fpr a difference in timing between them to declare a mis-fire. If they're both getting the same signal then, they're going to be automatically timed together.

It's clever. I'll have to mention this to my budy who's in the same boat.

Rock on, thanks.

I figured it would kinda work like my vcon set up. Just redirecting an additinal signal to the ECU to trick it in to doing what I want.

Wow, if it passed in CA, I know it will pass in NC. Any other sensors you know you had to fix, I am assuming you are using a JDM engine with a USDM ECU?

Yeah JDM ECU's don't talk OBD2 to a scanner. You can fool the secondary O2 sensor too. Some S2000's are running catless using the stock secondary O2 but, remoted from the exhaust gases by two "non-foulers".

i knew about the ECU deal. I just ordered a USDM 97 GSR ECU so I can pass emissions. Ill have to look in to one of thes "non-foules" as I think my 02s are fouled by now, lol
