Default o-ring question

does any one know how to change an o-ring: does it need honda bond? the car is a 98 honda civic ex (sohc)

no, mark the old distributor, then just pop the old one off, and install the new one, aligning the mark you made. no honda bonda needed. you will need to reset the timing though.

you will need a timing light/gun. super simple.

um like the other person said mark where the dizzy sits take it off and replace the ring then put it back on! Setting the timing is not hard! Get a timing light!

i have some questions on the timing..... i have a guy at the office here that says the timing is hard and complex but of course he works on old cars from the 70's can anyone explain how exactly to do it i am low on funds and will be attempting this myself (with the help of my brother) and i really dont want to mess it up. thank you for all your replies sincerly, christin sanders

Timing is easy when replacing the Dizzy Oring.

You hook up timing gun, loosen the bolts on the distributor and move the dizzy back or forward to get the timing light 16 degree BTD I believe.
