I just had a freshly rebuilt b16(turbo-charged) dropped into my crx. when at idle the rpms jump from 1000-2000. WHen i try to hold the rpm at 3000 or so the rpms drop by themselves.....anyone have any ideas of what this could be? I've pressure tested the intake system and there are no vacume leaks

 

hmmm, is the ecu throwing a code. may be a wiring problem.

 

Does it cycle? Do you know how to check the FITV?

 

Throttle linkage bind?
Try adjusting idle screw?
Try adjusting TPS? TPS believe it or not when off will cause a idle fluctuation
Tightening FITV screw and cleaning it
Cleaning the IACV mesh screen?

Go in that order

 

I came out of food lion the other day and there was a guy scratching his head in the parking lot with this same problem.

I told him to pop the hood and I'd fix it.

I whiped out a flat-head, screwed the idle screw in, and "viola!" problem solved.

 

It was the IAVC, i unplugged the sensor and it stopped........but the cel came on, so im gonna take it off and clean it.
