?'s on h23a1 build
i've been gathering parts and info on building the h23a1 but don't know if i'm doing it right. if anyone can help pease do so. here is what's done so far, engine is sleeved with darton flanged sleeves(87.5 mm), everything else is awaiting install, carillo rods, cp pistons, kms high flow oil pump, egr plate, crower cams, crower dual valve springs, titanium retainers, skunk 2 cam gears, .5 mm oversized valves, valve guides and seals-etc, koyo racing radiator, arp stud and main bolts, 3 bar map sensor, 550 rc injectors, aem fuel rail, need a fpr, king bearings for rods and crank, knifing crank, rps clutch, flywheel ?, rebuilding tranny w quaife lsd, stage 2 axles, hondata s300, p70 ecu, drag turbo kit(57 trim), blitz bov, tial wg(38mm), 255 lph walbro fuel pump, still wondering what msd to go with?, all necessary seals and gaskets, going to go with a test pipe conversion and 3" exhaust, turbo and downpipe heat guards/wrap, silicone cooling hoses, of course a good tune, o ya and a greddy profec b spec 2, auto meter gauges(oil temp, af ratio, boost). is there anythng i'm forgetting??????
i've been gathering parts for the last 2 yrs and coming close to completion. i need to know if this is going to be a good set up and if i need to make changes please let me know now so i can change it while i can. i was planning to use the stock intake manifold since it's got iab valves and just upgrading the throttle body with a spacer, if i can find one. please give all expert advice, thanks.

trying to achieve 350-400whp. i just read somewhere that a tb spacer helps with plenum volume for when you upgrade the fuel system so you don't have to buy a new manifold.
Yeah, that should easily get you 350 so long as it's all put together well.
You probably won't need to change the cams, stock are good for lots of FI power.
For the IM you should check out blacktrax, they do good stuff with stock H-series manifolds.
Also might consider a better A/F gauge setup...I'd reccomend a PLX M-300 to tune with.
Probably more stuff to add, but that's all I can think of the top of my head right now...

Intake Air Bypass
The stock IM is a 2-stage manifold with 8 holes total. 4 of them are blocked by small butterflies until a certain rpm range is reached and they open to provide more air. If they were open at low rpms you would loose power there.

i will also say tb plates are worthless. i had one for a while and it did abs nothing. and to add to the problems with it was the plate was a helix plate and was only 56 mils which is smaller than the tb and im opening. honestly a larger tb with the im port matched is ideal

thanks for the input everyone. ya, i actually got my hondata from blacktrax and that's where i'm taking my extra tranny to get rebuilt and ecu chipped. also, thnking about getting it tuned there. mos def going to check out what they can do with my IM. o ya, got it, tb spacers are pointless.
