Default Has anyone made over 400whp with a johnnyracecar intercooler?

ive got a jrc intercooler (core 30x8x2.75 i think) in my basement and i was just wondering if i could still use it for my next motor which should be between 400-450whp.

last year i made about 330whp with it but i just dont know how good it is. if this one wont work (which im sure ill use another one im just curious), whats about the smallest size i can go and still be efficient? i dont feel like hacking up my jdm itr bumper very much for this

that one is rated at 350whp right? i know its not b&p, but i believe they are underrated.

i made 440whp, on a jric 8"
with 2.25 ic pipeing @ 30ps...i

switched to a precision 650hp ic and 3" piping it made 520whp...@30 psi
all on a t3/60-1 .63ar
went 11.2's in the that ic...and 11.5 on street tires...

and the only difference was the ic and piping diameter? damn....

i also have a t3/60-1 .63ar. perhaps i should get a better intercooler. i will be using 2.5" charge pipes all the way around

I dont know much about that size of the JRC but I am using the newer 8" and Im making 300 at 11ish psi on an sc34.

Also increasing your piping size will lower you on the compressor map. So because of the less pressure loss His turbo was back in the efficiency zone. Say with the 2.25 for the motor to get 30 he probably had to pump 34 or so....

Regardless, that is a large increase. Nice.

they are nice ic's for the money i ran one for 1.5 years and destroyed alot of cars on that setup i had like a ghetto 1.75" elbow off of the 2.5 outlet of that turbo that could have nbeen hurting flow as well..

Yeah, after learning about the pressure loss differences of the piping sizes I will always run 3" where I can. I run 2.5 off the compressor then through the 8" JRC to 3" to the throttle body.
