Default oil pressure?

i have a 96gsr and i had a question about oil pressure on my motor. whats the oil pressure suppose to be at? when my car is at idle, its in between 0- 25, and sometimes would drop eve lower (almost to 0) and then i crusing on the freeway or what not, its usually a little over 50psi. is this normal? a couple of my friends car reads 25psi at idle and about 75 at idle.
im using auto meter electrical oil pressure gauge and so are my friends.

this is the exact gauge im using

oil pressure should be around 20psi at idle and around 70 psi after 3k

At cold idle (car idled up and cold oil) it should be kicking in at around 75ish. Under normal idle it should be around 17-22 (thickness of oil will play a role on this). Is it possible that the gauge is bad and/or has air in the line? Since it seems to be almost 20psi low over then entire range, it seems more likely that you have an issue with the gauge.
