What is the average oil pressure on a 94-01 LS idle and crusing at 3000rpms? After it has warmed up? thanks

 

70-75 psi

 

i'm runnin a lil low on pressure, about 63psi ish..worn out rod bearings

 

I think mine is around 78, idle around 21. I will keep watch tomorrow and post up again.

 

How would you go about finding what the oil pressure is?

 

With a manual guage.

 

OK. So all you guys that know your oil pressure have installed in car gauges or do you use under hood gauges that measure the cars peak pressure and stays at that.

 

at start up its 80psi, warmed up at 1k its 24psi and at 3k its 67psi

Those numbers are very similar to mine, and that's on a 301K mile B18A engine. My 750 rpm idle pressure is around 18 psi, and at 3K, 70 psi.

I installed an oil pressure gauge because of the age and amount of miles on my original oil pump, so I am taking no chances. My rebuild is scheduled sometime before I reach 400k miles, lol.

The Helm's manual states for my B18A that warm oil pressures should be at least 10 psi at 750 rpm idle and at least 50 psi at 3k rpms. My numbers seem perfect.
