I'm in the market for one for my turbo D and I came across this.

Never used it personally but from what I have heard the PLX devices are very good.

I know, they have a great reputation.
It looks easier than normal to connect it to the ecu so I can datalog the af/r using cromepro.

PLX Widebands are top notch. I do believe you need to still get the guage for that sensor though. That box is merely a control module.

But he said he wants it for CromePro. The very least you need for that is an acurate 0-5V wideband input to where the stock o2 sensor wire is. CromePro w/datalogging cable will do the rest.
I would suggest the M-300 though. It has the display, the narrow and wideband output, and is one of the cheapest kits with a display and the cheap to replace VW sensor.

yeah for now i just want the controller and replace my narrowband o2 with the wideband o2. The smafr looks a little easier to install.

With the SM-AFR, you have to assemble the power plug as well as pin the wire(s) into the 4-pin connector for the analog output(s). It's more work to install than just the typical (3) wires to the ECU for 12VDC+, GND, and analog output to D14.

Good kit, I'm going to pick one up with the gauge display as well. I've heard a lot of good things about PLX, the supra/rx-7 communities swear by them!
