Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but an interesting read nonetheless.

They are all pretty rough people from what i can tell.. I don't think i would get along with a single one of their regular members in person... Too dirty(not shower wise, just their attitudes, actions, etc.), loud, arrogant, etc.. for me.

LOL, this is 100% false
They just don't like getting called a "turbo honda forum"... because its more than just turbo civic...
Yes honda has a big share, but they is also ford/nissan/kia/toyota/mazda/GM...
Yes they are rude but its because noobs dont read the faqs before posting question and its a smaller forum so people know each other more than here.
They refer to honda-tech (it's full of good info but also full of sh*t) and most are member here (for those who have an honda) they just hate people posting question like "Do you think revhard turbo is better than the greddy?" Dude this is homemadeturbo ---> homemade not prefabs, prefabs ≠ custom
So its not a forum for a guy that have no experience at all in mechanics, you need to have at least the basic skills...
Anyway getting flammed on a forum has never kill anybody.

OK.......whatever dude. That WHOLE SITE is Honda. Everything in there besides the general section is almost 100% dedicated to Honda stuff. What is more funny is people over there bash HT, but then want to use Ht for vouches or other ****.
Anyway back OT.....
The easiest way I would think for a beginner to put together a poor mans kit is look at what comes in a pre-fabbed kit and then just price your own ****. There are ways to save money, yet get a great kit. I "homemade" my turbo kit and it cost me around the same price as a greddy kit but that will include infinetly better fuel management, datalogging, wideband, etc. ebay will be your friend as will classifieds on boards.
