Default Main Shaft Bearing In Transmission?

My car is acting fuct up! everytime i put the clutch in and put it in gear while its running it makes a messed up sound, clinking/grinding noise <=sound like my chick trying to explain something to me , anyways when i pull it out of gear it stops, also the problem comes and goes and when it occurs while im driving its hard as f#ck to put it in gear, the only things i can think of is (Main shaft bearing) everything else is new exept piolet bearing and i don't think its that. * IM STUMPT*

ALSO : My shifter is sloppy as all hell now too!??

:STUMP'D:

I just rebuilt mying, did a act flywheel, and clutch when I was in there, and there is no piolt bearing. at least on my 97 f22b2, with the p2a5 trans. what all else is new though? I would check the master, and slave cyl make sure there is no leaks and that it doesn't have air in the lines. also when was the last time you checked your trany fluied, or changed it? another item you could look at is the shifter cables on the trans, see if there losse.

Well the throw out bearing could be trashed; try to see if the noise goes away when you step on the clutch, but comes back when you let the clutch out in neutral.

Drain the trans thru a rag to look for metal chips and maybe run a small magnet into the drain hole, then refill it with Honda MTF or 10w30.

The other thing you can do is use a long screwdriver or a piece of tubing as a stethoscope and see if the noise is coming from the trans case. If there is a growl or rumble while idleing in neutral on the passengerside of the trans case, suspect a bearing.

It's sorta hard to diagnose trans noises over the internet.

its not the throw out bearing, its brand new, it only happens when i have the clutch in and put it in gear when i have the clutch in and pull it out of gear it stops i just put gear oil in the trans (did not have to put much) so i went to try it out and my master cyl just went out on my breaks so now i have a project on top of another project.

Check this out. Main shaft ball and roller bearings went kaput.
It was making a lot of noises when in gear.

Sounds like something broke .. prob. clutch related. Unfortunately you wont know until you drop the transmission. Once you do im sure it will be something obvious.

im trying to sell the car, but if i keep it im going to drop the combo and put a lsd h22a trans, i can't see it being the clutch b/c its all brand new, i've done close to 100 clutch jobs and never had any prob. (except my first clutch job i did all on my own when i was 15 and i didn't use the alighnment tool and could not figure out why the imput shaft was not fitting ??? then my dad came along and helped , i felt stupid, but my dad said this is the way you learn... FROM EXPERIANCE not reading, reading can only help you so much..) i thought i would share that with you guys and girls ..

I'm Learning online from YOU? I've forgotten more about Hondas than you'll EVER know!!
Just so you understand I started working on Hondas in 1980; [in the days of the dirty dozen] that was 20 years before your daddy jacked off into the trailer park toilet where you were spawned from a week old turd; I guess it explains why you have $hit for brains though.
I rebuild Engines and Automatic Transmissions while you took a simple clutch job and 'F'ed it up so bad you now need a trans. and are too dumb to figure out whats wrong in a simple manual transmission.
Yep no doubt, you are the person EVERYBODY wants to learn from.
Maybe if you hadn't been so busy bending over and spreading your cheeks for your boyfriend, the clutch job would have turned out better.
The reason all the good techs leave this website is because of smart mouthed PUNKASSES like you.
Burn all the bridges you want to
